Complementary Cancer Treatment With Hypnotherapy
Traditional cancer treatment typically consists of surgery to remove the tumor and either chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Sometimes a hormone therapy is also used. The idea behind this approach is to remove the mass of cancer and then to completely kill off any cancerous cells that may not have been caught by the surgery. While this is the best option we have currently come up with for fighting cancer it comes with several drawbacks.
Firstly is causes a lot of stress to the immune system, it's not only cancerous cells which are killed but white blood cells too. Secondly it is both physically and psychologically demanding for the person receiving such an intense course of treatment. Thirdly all this treatment inevitably leads to pain, and with the immune system weakened the healing process can take even longer than it normally would to repair the damage. These are all good reasons why a cancer patient may wish to look for a complementary cancer treatment, one of the most popular options is in fact hypnotherapy.
Since the mid to late 1950's where both the British and American Medical Associations' gave their approval of the medical use of hypnosis (as well as Pope Pius XII) hypnotherapy has been used successfully to help people lose weight, quit smoking, improve their sleep, overcome their fears and much more. In more recent years though hypnotherapy has become the leading complementary treatment for cancer.
There are many reasons why someone who is suffering from cancer may wish to use hypnotherapy. To begin with hypnotherapy is an excellent method of relaxation, and with the stresses and strains cancer (and it's treatment) causes this in itself can provide a great relief. Hypnotherapy can also help a patient think more positively about their situation and illness. It is a dark period of anybodies life, yet with the proper thoughts and suggestions a person can still be upbeat and enjoy life. It has also been proved by many scientific studies that people with a positive outlook heal more quickly and have lower mortality rates.
Perhaps the most useful use of hypnotherapy for cancer patients though is reducing the pain and nausea they may be suffering. Unfortunately pain is to be expected when fighting cancer, and both chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been known to cause severe nausea in some patients. Hypnotherapy can reduce both these issues because of the way it directs the subconscious mind. Have you ever had a scratch that you didn't know was there, then when suddenly you saw it it suddenly started to hurt, even though it didn't before? That's the power of the mind. In a reversal of this process a hypnotherapist can help a patient forget about the pain and nausea they have been experiencing and greatly reduce any discomfort.
Many hospitals and hospices now employ hypnotherapists to help people dealing with cancer as well as many other serious conditions. I hope that you have found this article useful. If you, or anybody you know, is currently fighting cancer please consider using hypnotherapy as a complementary treatment. It is not a cure, but it can make the situations much more bearable.

Mind-Body Healing With Hypnosis
You have probably heard of the powerful effects of hypnosis to help with behavior changes, self-improvement and memory recall. Lesser known are the powerful effects hypnosis can have on the body and physical healing. Since the mind is always working worth the body it makes good sense.
This field is known as Medical Hypnosis. The natural results often seem miraculous. Sadly, this wonderful modality has been pushed to the side because it is hard to analyze with standard scientific tools.
Nonetheless, Medical Hypnosis has a very long, well documented history. For instance, starting in 1846, Dr. James Esdaile performed over 2000 operations using hypnosis as the sole means of anesthetic. Back then the chances of surviving even minor surgery were slim, yet Dr. Esdaile had a very low mortality rate and rapid post-operative recovery. If chloroform hadn't been introduced it is likely that hypnosis would be commonly used in surgery today. Hypnosis has also been shown to speed up post-operative recovery.
As long ago as 1955 the British Medical Association approved of hypnosis for certain uses. The American Medical Association quickly followed suit in 1958. There are countless modern studies showing the effectiveness of medical hypnosis.
So what is Medical Hypnosis, and what can it do for you?
Simply put, Medical Hypnosis is the use of hypnosis to assist physical healing and changes. The American Medical Association and many doctors have acknowledged that between 70 to 90% of illness starts in the mind. Negative mental states can weaken the body's delicate defense mechanisms.
Doesn't it seem obvious that if the mind can be the underlying factor for so much illness then it should also be able to heal that illness? Of course! Even the incredible effect of placebos proves this. It is hard to fathom why health professionals don't see this. Well, things are changing - slowly...
The field of study and research in this area is known as psycho-neuro-immunology. It has been clearly shown that your thoughts and moods can cause changes in hormone and neurotransmitter levels. The brain and its chemicals interact with every other part of the body.
This knowledge is not new. Andrew Schalley and Roger Guillemin received the Nobel Prize in 1977 after showing how the brain uses neurotransmitters to 'give orders' to the body. Research at Michigan State University has demonstrated that a single cell can be controlled by how we think. Our state of mind plays a major role in our body's susceptibility to illness and its ability to heal itself.
Since the body is controlled by the brain, and the brain by the mind, it follows that we can influence our body through the mind. Hypnosis allows us access to our subconscious mind, and is therefore the best tool for this purpose.
Many scientific hypnosis demonstrations have baffled the minds of the audience. Warts can be made to vanish. Ice can create heat blisters. Bleeding can be turned on and off at will. People walk on red hot coals without burning. Strength can be increased many times. These demonstrations are just to show the incredible potential we all have. Medical hypnosis uses these principles to enhance our health.
Medical Hypnosis has many favorable qualities. It is totally safe and non-invasive. Hypnosis has no risks or side effects. It generally costs only a fraction of standard medical treatment. Hypnosis can easily work alongside other therapies, and might even enhance their effectiveness. This is because the mind has the ability to block treatments from working.
Here is a brief list of some of the more common issues Medical Hypnosis has been used for:
* Allergies
* Asthma
* Bed wetting
* Blushing
* Body building
* Breast enlargement
* Childbirth
* Duodenal ulcer
* Eyesight
* Hair loss
* Headaches/Migraines
* Immune strengthening
* Insomnia
* Menstrual problems
* Pain Control
* Sexual problems
* Skin disorders
* Sports improvement
* Stammering
* Twitching
* Warts
The list could go on for ever!
You were born with an incredible ability to heal. A medical hypnotist's job is to help you utilize it. Some problems may need diagnosis or referral from your physician. Your doctor is necessary, so always consult with your physician concerning a medical issue.
One final word. When selecting a hypnotist be sure to check that they are properly qualified. Keep in mind that a medical of psychology degree does not include hypnosis training, so check their qualifications in terms of hypnosis training and experience. A medical hypnotist does not have to be a medical doctor, but will happily work with your doctor. I urge you to discover for yourself just how great medical hypnosis can be.

Richard MacKenzie Direct
Richard MacKenzie is a world-famous psychologist who uses self-hypnosis and other hypnotic techniques to help others create lasting modification in their lives.
A number of the tools used by Richard MacKenzie to help normal people make extraordinary life changes include self-hypnosis, hypnotherapy, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and a new method called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). A selection of personal issues can be addressed using these simple tools, including phobias, anxiety, obsessions, weight problems, sexual issues, smoking, and much more.
Hypnosis is related to stage magic and cheap entertainment tricks, however it is much more than that. Richard MacKenzie isn't a magician and does not practice that brand of hypnosis. Psychotherapists acknowledge hypnotherapy as a valuable and effective tool for change. Progressive relaxation and the power of suggestion are used in hypnotherapy to effect deep psychological change.
Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis work by teaching clients to undergo progressive stages of deeper and deeper relaxation. Throughout a deeply relaxed state the unconscious mind can be reprogrammed using positive suggestions. Dramatic and immediate changes can be accomplished using these hypnotic techniques.
Hypnosis can make deep, fast changes because it bypasses the conscious mind. Hypnosis cuts right though the conscious mind to create rapid, deep change. Solving problems at the conscious level can take a long time and can be very frustrating. Hypnosis gets right to the unconscious root of a problem to solve it in record time.
NLP is a specific kind of hypnosis that works very quick. NLP alters self-image, perceptions, and thoughts by tapping an individual's communication style and manner of talking.
EFT, a technique pioneered by MacKenzie, combines hypnotherapy, self-hypnosis, and NLP into one tool for modification.
Traditional therapy can be frustrating when it takes years and years and doesn't work. MacKenzie's EFT method can achieve the same or better results in a fraction of the time.
Richard MacKenzies website has the advantage of being flexible, private, and filled with many different treatment options. Affordable MP3 audio programs addressing a selection of problems are available at the site for immediate download. Visitors can also use the site to schedule personal hypnotherapy sessions. Anyone who visits the site can also find a life coach or qualified hypnotherapist in their local area, browse a directory of articles on conditions and treatments, or order lots of useful self-help materials.
Many totally different problems can be treated using the MP3 self-hypnosis audios, including Addictions and Habits (like smoking, alcohol addiction, cannabis addiction, compulsive lying, compulsive gambling, compulsive spending, and nail biting); Phobias (like fear of flying, fear of the dentist, fear of public speaking); Sexual Issues; and a broad range of Lifestyle Issues (like generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, insomnia, fear of driving, depression, negativity, insomnia, and more).
Visitors to the site have the freedom to design their own program and identify their own personal goals. MacKenzie's site is designed to go beyond addressing anxiety, phobias, and addictions. Richard MacKenzie wants visitors to go beyond solving problems and on to setting goals and developing personal potential.
Live is about more than solving issues and relieving fear. Richard MacKenzie wants visitors to the site to achieve the kind of lives they have always dreamt about living.

Healing Cancer With Hypnosis
Many folks have the mistaken impression that cancer is a dangerous enemy that rarely strikes, but when it does so, it attacks with rapid and lethal power. In fact, researchers agree that cancer cells emerge in our bodies all the time, and are the result of simple errors in the reproduction of normal body cells. In most cases, cells of the immune system, which are well programmed to spot such aberrations, destroy these cancerous cells before they have time to do lasting harm.
Scientists believe that a cancerous cell becomes dangerous only when physical irritants like cigarette smoke in the lungs create a large number of distorted and polluted cells, similar to scar tissue, and sometimes called squamous cells. The immune system cells in this mess of scar tissue and smoke cease to recognize the first cancer cells in this toxic clutter, and in time it's too late for the immune system to destroy them without medical help.
Another possibility is that some cancer cells can wrap themselves in estrogen receptors. This means that the tumor is disguising itself at a biochemical level as an embryo. An embryo is a collection of rapidly growing undifferentiated cells. What saves it from the attack of mother's immune system is its estrogen receptors, which are attracting lots of estrogen, saying to the immune system "Don't hurt me, I'm your baby!"
Scientists are still discovering different chemical signatures by which cancer cells can hide from the ever present immune response. But the frequency of the estrogen receptor in cancer cells suggests it is a common strategy. It also explains why estrogen based hormone therapies always show a significant cancer risk. ( I find it rather interesting that our word Cancer is the astrological sign for the mother.) Patients with compromised immune systems because of age, ill health, or immune system diseases like AIDS are also extremely vulnerable to cancer. But remember that most of have an immune system that is tough enough and smart enough to defeat cancer.
Unfortunately, many cancer treatments, especially chemotherapy and radiation, because they target all of the body's cells that are reproducing, are very destructive to the immune system, because immune cells are constantly reproducing and dying out as they fight infection and destroy tumors. So paradoxically, many cancer treatments damage the very system the body needs to recover from cancer.
In addition, these treatments are so toxic that they produce cancerous in many lab experiments and hospital patients. Nearly all of these chemicals are so dangerous they are labeled as carcinogenic. The big challenge in oncology has been to keep the patient alive through these treatments long enough for the cancer to be destroyed. Some physicians are convinced that the high rate of reoccurrence for their patients is connected to the high toxicity of these treatments.
Fortunately, great progress is being made in refining these treatments. Dosage reductions, aiming radiation and chemotherapy more precisely at the tumor mass, even hormone based chemotherapy, all have made these treatments safer and more effective than ever.
Even greater strides can be made in cancer treatment, however, can be made if patients are willing to explore and clear the underlying cause of their tumor from the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is obviously the ideal medium for this exploration, because it can be experienced by most people easily, and helps us safely connect to subconscious motivations.
There are three problems however, that are inherent within this process. First, the client must be willing to accept that at least part of the cause of their condition lies in their own subconscious mind. This is a tough journey for many Americans, who are accustomed to taking no responsibility for their health, and might even be offended at the suggestion that something they did may be the cause of this condition.
Empathy requires the health professional to treat these feelings as delicately as possible. I reassure my clients that "YOU didn't do this. Rather this disease is a product of feelings and experiences and beliefs from your distant past, which have become stored in your body. Hypnosis can help us to access these programs and clear them, freeing your immune system to work with your treatment program to stop this cancer."
The second problem is finding a hypnotherapist whose training is sufficient to actually help discover and clear these underlying conditions. Most medical doctors, including psychiatrists, even if they have some familiarity with hypnotic work, have no training in the in-depth strategies required to access the cause and fix it. Even most hypnotherapists have little training in these complex techniques. If you know someone suffering from cancer, get help in finding a trained hypnotherapist experienced in this work.
The final problem is finding medical doctors who are willing to recommend these methods to their patients. It's easy to understand their skepticism. Most doctors have little or no training in psychological causation. And where have the skilled practitioners been whom they could recommend. Should they send their dangerously ill client to some new graduate of a cheap training program who specializes in smoking cessation? No, they need to know someone who has the background and gets results. Meanwhile, don't wait for your physician's endorsement. As one of my former breast cancer patients said to me, triumphantly, "I knew I could heal my breasts and not lose them when I started taking responsibility for my body. I decided that my body and I had made this disease together and we could fix it together!"
So far in several articles, I have described the use of hypnosis in addressing and healing the underlying causes of cancer, thus freeing the immune system, if it isn't too damaged by the disease or medical treatments, to destroy the cancer. But hypnosis can do much more than this as an adjunct to medical treatment. Hypnosis can be used to direct both the cells of the immune system and the agents of chemotherapy to go after the cancer with greater strength. One of my successful clients used hypnosis to direct her body to take all the chemo she was taking directly into the tumor. The doctor's were amazed at how quickly her ovarian cancer responded to the treatment, and how mild her chemo side effects were.
Hypnosis can also be used to rebuild the immune system, and to counter the other effects of chemo, like anemia, nausea, hair loss, etc. Hypnosis can also increase the success and reduce the recovery time from surgery. I've also written on hypnotic anesthesia and surgery. If you are facing the challenge of cancer, only your doctor knows what medical procedures are best. But whatever your Doctor says, use hypnotherapy with a skilled and well trained practitioner and you will vastly increase your chances of not just surviving cancer, but thriving again in a healthy active life. Good luck in your recovery!

The Secrets of Covert Hypnosis
Wouldn't you like to learn how to hypnotize people, control their minds and thoughts and get them to obey you and ONLY you...? My guess is that this is exactly what you want... and today I'm going to teach you how you can obtain it using the most effective mind control hypnosis technique you will find - conversational hypnosis.
Hypnotizing Others With Conversational Hypnosis
Conversational hypnosis, as it sounds, revolves around commanding hypnosis during a conversation. This technique (which is also known as covert, black ops and underground hypnosis and NLP - neuro linguistic programming) is certainly the most effective and powerful mind control hypnosis technique and soon you will understand why.
This technique uses hand-picked words, phrases and gestures that when used correctly can gain you access to the subconscious mind of the person you are trying to hypnotize, and thus, you can change his thoughts feelings fears etc.
With this techniques you will hypnotize people while they are wide awake and have no clue that you are hypnotizing them, hence the names covert and underground hypnosis, and here lies its true power...
While other hypnosis techniques compel you to convince the person you're about to hypnotize to get hypnotized, and make use of props and forms of speech which are not natural, conversational hypnosis does not force you to do any of that.
If you want to hypnotize using this method, you do not need any kind of agreement from the person you're about to hypnotize (he will never know he has been hypnotized by you anyway...) and do not need to swing pendulums or speak in an unnatural opiate voice.
Its power comes from it being able to fly over the radar, so that any gestures that seem unnatural will only hurt the hypnotic process.
Conversational Hypnosis - Example
One way to use it is: If you want send a message that, let's say, Danny is incompetent or weak, you can do that by raising your hand and showing your little finger to the people you're talking to whenever you mention Danny's name. This finger is the weakest and the smallest, hence, raises thoughts of weakness and incompetence. Make sure not to over use it. Use it in a 'by the way' sort of manner and it will have a subconscious effect on those people. They will catch the bait and won't even know how it happened.
Notice that techniques like this are used almost all the time by news broadcasters and probably have affected you too...
Conclusion
This was only one example of How to Hypnotize People using this method. Of course, there is still a lot to learn on this subject, but once learned, you can literally change your life: gain the respect you've always wanted, make almost anyone agree with what you say, convince other people to buy from you or that you are the right person for the job and so much more.
About The AuthorIf you want to know how you too can obtain all of this, do not hesitate, simply click on the following link Conversatioanl Hypnosis to get started. Good luck, and remember, conversational hypnosis is a powerful tool, use it wisely...

Influence People With NLP
The Presupposition of Awareness actually directs us to assume that whatever we are aware of actually has occurred or exist. For example, "Are you aware that there is a monster behind you?"
Even if it is in the negative, the strength of the presupposition remains the same. You are probably not aware that there is a monster behind you. To identify Presupposition of Awareness, you simple listen to verbs that deal with our senses and our ability to focus and be aware.
Here are some examples: "You can notice how the new television set fits right in your home.", "Are you aware the virus can kill you in an instant?", "You probably did not realize that people who learn NLP become far more resourceful than ordinary people." Whenever we speak, we either talk about things of the past, present or future. Sometimes, we also talk about two events of the past. So, when you say something like, "I ate a pie." it means that you did the action of eating some time during the past.
Also, if I said that, he had forgotten to bring that file, the presupposition is that the file forgetting was in the past. Please note that the presupposition does not say anything about this person remembered to bring the file or not.
Here are some examples: "When you donate the money, you will be good.", "After the crisis, everyone will be unhappy.", "While I run my business, I am having fun.", "I cannot do that now!"
The use of the "Or" presents an interesting Presupposition of Choice.
There are two types of "Ors", depending on the nature of the outcome, known as the "Exclusive" and "Inclusive Ors". Here's an example of an "Exclusive Or". If I asked, "Do you want to go out with me or would you like to stay at home?"
Both have mutually exclusive outcomes.
However, it becomes an "Inclusive Or" if I said, "Do you want to go out with me today or tomorrow?" because the outcome is focused on going out.
Here are more examples of the "Inclusive Or", "Do you want to buy this apple or buy that watermelon?", "Would you be free at four p.m. or five p.m.?", "You can sign up for module one only or for all three modules!"
Here are some examples of the "Exclusive Or", "He is either running for the President or not running at all!", "I could buy this pillow or I could just go home and relax.", "We can shift the meeting or go ahead with the poorly planned one!"
Anything that describes order or a list would contain a Presupposition of Ordinance. For instance, if I told you, "The second thing we have to discuss today is finance."
From the statement, we can presuppose that we have already discussed the first thing, even though the truth conditions may not be necessarily be fulfilled. Here are a few examples of this presupposition, "We meet every Thursday.", "I am happy to be the first to meet you today.", "Should we go to the third floor?"
There you have it, the different types of presuppositions that we can use in our daily life.

The Benefits of Self Hypnosis
There are many benefits to using self hypnosis. It can be used to overcome fears, fight addictions such as smoking, improve confidence and self esteem, and improve sports performance, to name just a few. In fact self hypnosis can be used to improve just about anything you want to in your life.
For some people self hypnosis is extremely easy and requires very little effort. Some take to it like a duck to water, while other people may need to experiment a bit more to reap the wonderful benefits it can bring. This article intends to help you get the most out of self hypnosis.
Self hypnosis can involve a little bit of trial and error at the beginning until you start to identify the conditions that best suit you as an individual. Variables such as the ideal body position, or the most opportune time of day are truly yours to determine based on your particular situation, schedule, and individuality. It's important to remember that there are no fixed rules that apply to everyone. Everyone is unique and it is left to you to identify what works and how you can most effectively reach that desired state.
There are, however, a few elements which will help increase your degree of success with self hypnosis, regardless of individual needs. Some of the points I will address or based on listening to a recorded self hypnosis CD or download. However, I'll start with the issues which should be addressed regardless of whether you're listening to a recording or not.
A fairly obvious requirement is total relaxation, which usually requires reduced distractions. So it is very important to try and find a quiet place that limits or completely obliterates outside sources and choose a time when you are certain you won't be interrupted. Ensure that if you have people at home, tell them to not disturb you for however long you want, unless of course there is an emergency.
Knowing that hypnosis is in fact an altered state on consciousness, it bears noting that the early morning may not be the best time. You may find you're extremely alert and hyper-sensitive to distractions at that time. Instead, pick a time of day when you're slowing down, or typically starting to feel fatigued. For most people, self hypnosis is best in the evening time, preferably more bedtime.
The most useful bit of advice I can give to a beginner is try not to try too hard. Self hypnosis requires concentration, but being overly focuses on being hypnotized will impair the process. Part of the self hypnosis process is being able to just let go and let it happen to you. Rather than focusing on achieving hypnosis, focus on nothing, and let the message make its way clearly and seamlessly, effortlessly, whether it's a recording or your own words.
Using a recording is a great for self hypnosis. One key factor in getting the most out of a recorded self hypnosis session is regular listening. Repetition is the key to successful suggestion and the more you subject your mind to the message, the more it will penetrate and impact.
Another important factor in getting the most out of a recorded self hypnosis session is to wear headphones. Not only are headphones great if you're easily distracted, but they also promotes an intimacy between you and the voice on the recording, closing off outside noises, and facilitating a more direct route to your mind.
Like anything else, you will only get out of self hypnosis what you're willing to put into it. If you're determined to find ways to fight hypnosis and disprove its effectiveness, you're unlikely succeed. This is essentially true of anything we do in life. But if you go into it with a clear open mind and you're willing to invest the time to find your ideal hypnosis conditions, you can literally reap of benefits of self hypnosis on a fairly regular basis, even daily.Monday, 22 March 2010
The Different Kinds of Hypnosis
Over the years hypnosis has received some pretty bad press, some justified, but much of the criticism has come from those who do not truly understand the power of hypnosis. However things are slowly changing, and it is now generally accepted even in the medical profession that hypnosis is real and can be a very powerful tool.
Hypnosis is simply a mental state induced by a hypnotic induction, commonly composed of a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions. Whilst in the hypnotic state subjects will be in a state of heightened suggestibility where they are far more likely to believe or perform what they are being told. It can be very effective on some people, and have no effect on others, it really depends on the individual and their state of mind as to whether hypnosis will have any effect or not.
Whilst there is no scientific explanation of what hypnosis is or how it works, it is generally accepted that hypnosis is real and does have its uses with some people that can achieve quite remarkable results. It wasn't that long ago that the only type of hypnosis people knew of was stage hypnosis. You have probably seen this at a show or on TV where volunteers are picked from the audience and hypnotized to perform silly acts for the enjoyment of the rest of the remaining audience. However nowadays in the 21st century hypnosis has evolved and we now have different types of hypnosis like self-hypnosis, Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP hypnosis to name a few. This article looks to define the different types types of hypnosis you may not be so familiar with.
Traditional Hypnosis
Traditional hypnosis has been around for a while now and is what most people think of when they hear the term hypnosis. Traditional hypnosis is when the hypnotist puts the subject into a hypnotic trance and then tells the subject what to do by giving direct commands and suggestions. This is where stage hypnosis has evolved from.
Traditional hypnosis has received some bad press over the years and unfortunately some of it is justified. There have been many stories of actors and stooges playacting in the performance, and at the other extreme people have become stuck in a hypnotic state of terror unable to fully awaken. Having said this traditional hypnosis can be a fun and effective tool when used by an experienced hypnotist.
Hypnotherapy
Using hypnosis to promote healing or positive development in any way is known as hypnotherapy. It is usually used to tackle psychological problems within the mind as this is where hypnosis can very powerful. When successful hypnotherapy can reprogram patterns of behaviour within the mind and can allow things like phobias, irrational fears, addictions and negative emotions to be controlled. Hypnotherapy can also be used to control the sensations of pain, and hypnosis has been used to perform surgery on fully conscious patients who would be in obvious agony if not for the use of hypnosis.
Contrary to common myths, hypnotherapy does not involve any form of deep sleep, in fact the subject is actually said to be fully awake and in a heightened state of awareness. However the patient must remain fully focused on the therapy and the success of hypnotherapy depends on the patients ability to focus on what is being said, establishing a good rapport with the therapist is essential. The patient must believe in the treatment and enter the therapy with an open mind or the treatment will almost certainly be unsuccessful.
Self Hypnosis
Self hypnosis (also known as auto hypnosis) is a self induced form of hypnosis and usually involves the subject learning a set of procedures, or following a recording or some other form of media. Usually this is another form of hypnotherapy and a hypnotherapist will often teach or recommend self-hypnosis to their patients. It can also be used for relaxation and has been compared with meditation.
The only difference between hypnosis and self hypnosis is that when you are using self-hypnosis you will be acting on the suggestions of yourself rather than any third party. In fact it has been said that all forms of hypnosis are actually self-hypnosis because the subject is going through the same processes in their mind, a hypnotist merely helps the subject into the trance state and offer their suggestions, but it is the subject that processes these thoughts in their minds. The end result is the same whether using self-hypnosis or being hypnotized by a third party.
The uses of self-hypnosis are very similar to those of hypnotherapy and can be used to combat psychological problems like phobias, addictions, stress and other psychological problems. It can also be used to enter an advanced state of relaxation and this is why self hypnosis is often compared with those who are meditating.
NLP Hypnosis
NLP hypnosis (neuro-linguistic programming) is another form of hypnosis similar to self hypnosis but concentrates more on peoples behaviours. NLP began as a form of psychological therapy similar to hypnosis and was originally used to tackle similar psychological problems like phobias, depression, habit and learning disorders. Whilst this is still the case, today NLP is seen more as a self-help tool and is often used to promote a sense of well being. NLP is growing rapidly worldwide and becoming increasingly popular in the professional world. NLP courses are becoming popular within big businesses, particularly in management training, life coaching and self-help.
NLP hypnosis is used to tackle psychological or behavioural problems or to simply improve ones sense of well being. It is a great tool for motivation and improving self confidence, although again it is unclear in the scientific community exactly what NLP is or how it works.
Ericksonian Hypnosis
Also known as conversational hypnosis or covert hypnosis, Ericksonian hypnosis is when a subject can be hypnotized within a normal conversation, often without the subject realizing they are being hypnotized at all.
Ericksonian hypnosis or conversational hypnosis was started by the hypnotherapist Dr Milton H. Erickson, who learnt to use his speech so effectively after becoming paralyzed and seriously ill himself. After contracting polio at the age of 17 he was essentially bed ridden for long periods, but during this time he learnt the significance of non-verbal communication - things like body language and tone of voice.
This form of hypnosis can be used on those who are skeptical about hypnotherapy or more traditional hypnosis, and has been said to be more effective on those who are more skeptical. It can be used by therapists during conversation and bypasses the traditional stage where a hypnotist will 'induce trance' before performing their work, although according to Erickson the patient will still enter this trance like state, but it will happen within a few second using clever hypnotic language and techniques during normal conversation.
Whilst this form of hypnosis was originally developed as a form of hypnotherapy it is now being used by everyday people in everyday life. There are many courses around nowadays that claim you can control others to do what you want if you can learn the powers of conversational hypnosis. There are even stories of conversational hypnosis being used in more sinister ways, like in Italy recently when a man used this form of hypnosis to get a bank cashier to hand over the cash simply by asking her to do so. Whilst incidents like this are very rare, there is no doubt that this form of hypnosis is real and can be very effective on certain people if you put in the time to learn the techniques.
The author learned about hypnosis whilst building his website which contains more information on hypnosis as well as other psychological tricks used in magic and mentalism. It also teaches mind reading techniques and explains how to greatly improve your memory. There is a great course on conversational hypnosis for those who are interested.

The Milton Erickson Handshake Induction
Anyone with so much as a passing interest in hypnosis will have at least heard the name Milton Erickson before. Milton Erickson (1901-1980) is highly regarded as one of the most important figures in hypnosis (and NLP) as many of the techniques he created were revolutionary. One of the many great techniques attributed to Milton Erickson was the hypnotic handshake induction. This is a techniques so effective and powerful than even today it is still taught in many NLP workshops.
Before I teach you the hypnotic handshake induction though I would like to discuss Erickson's background what exactly it is that made him such an extraordinary man. Milton was born into a farming family of modest wealth when at the age of 17 he contracted polio. The polio effected him so badly that doctors believed he had only days to live. It was through pure will and the use of self hypnosis that Milton was able to stay alive. As he was recovering Milton was still almost completely paralyzed and unable to speak. Rather than do nothing though Milton used this time to study people's body language as well as their tonality, non-verbal communication and their choice of words. This was how Milton Erickson became so adept at reading people.
Even more amazing though was the way Milton used self hypnosis to regain the ability to walk. He would induce a hypnotic trance within himself and then begin to think back to times when his arms and legs worked and imagine them moving once more. It was a slow ordeal but eventually Milton Erickson taught himself to walk again.
That is the sort of fortitude and intelligence Erickson held within himself. You can be sure that the hypnotic handshake induction is the real deal, just like Milton Erickson himself was.
To start with approach your intended subject with a smile and offer them your right hand. Without even thinking about it they will extend their right hand and begin shaking your hand.
As the handshake is about to end you change your grip to a light touch by your thumb and then brush the subject's hand with your middle finger. The touch is then shifted to the pinky finger. From here you shift the touch to the middle and then the thumb once more. Next you touch the open area of the wrist with an ever so slight upward push before a downward push of a similar force. The handshake is then terminated ever so gently so that the subject doesn't even realise contact has been broken.
Because shaking hands is something every adult has done thousands of times this unexpected change of action literally confuses the subject's mind into a trance state. That is what makes it such a great hypnotic induction. The Milton Erickson handshake induction turns a very mundane action into a very interesting one indeed. What you suggest to the subject once you have induced a hypnotic trance state is up to you.
It may take a little practice to truly master but once you do you have a great tool to use either as an induction to conversational hypnosis or maybe just as a party piece to get people talking.

Hypnosis For Children
Hypnosis is currently used to treat various kinds of disease, addictions and disorders. This process is termed as hypnotherapy. Recently, studies have shown that children respond very well to hypnotherapy.
That's one big reason why the technique is gaining expert acceptance in dealing with juvenile problem areas. On children, hypnosis is mostly used in cases of anxiety and fear. It is also used largely to alleviate problems that may affect children's growth.
Despite the clear benefits of hypnosis on children, many parents still have questions about what it really is about. Let us now take a look at the 7 most frequently asked questions on What Is Hypnosis For Children?.
How Soon Can You Send Your Child For Hypnosis?
It has been said that you can expose a child as young as 3 year old to hypnosis. Research have also determined that they are most responsive once they go above 5 years of age. Among the most common use of hypnotherapy on children is to resolve bed-wetting, thumb sucking, eating problems and other problems. It is even attributed in releasing stress and pressure children experienced.
What Techniques Are Used In Child Hypnosis?
There are many hypnotherapy techniques which are used by experts. The most commonly used on children would be a method called "blow away". It involves first inducing the children into a hypnotic state. Once under, a suggestion is given asking them to "blow away" all existing negative feelings.
Other existing methods of hypnotherapy include relaxation and mental images. They are both related to a daydream or a child's fantasy.
How Many Hypnotherapy Sessions Should A Child Attend?
The actual number of sessions required differs from child to child. It actually depends on the progress made that is pretty much determined by the expert. However, on average, a child normally have to undergo about 4 to 8 sessions before change is seen. The expert will be the best person to gauge the progress of a child who is undergoing therapy.
Is The Hypnosis Effect Permanent On The Child?
In most cases, the effects brought on by hypnosis can be permanent. However, there are cases where the positive effect is negated. Yes, it is possible to negate the hypnotherapy effect. This is done by strong negative influence or forces that the child experience.
A strong negative experience would bring the effects of a previous hypnotherapy session to nothing. Should such a situation ever happen, a back up session is required. This reinforcement session is to reinforce the positive traits that were built-up previously.
What Types Of Problems Benefit From Child Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis have been proven to help children with the following problems:
- Children in pain, these are children who are undergoing cancer treatments. Hypnotherapy is able to greatly reduce the painful effect of cancer treatments.
- Children who suffers from any kind of anxiety problems or asthma. Under hypnosis, the child will learn how to be calm and relax whenever anxiety or asthma attacks.
- Children who wet their bed at night. A hypnotherapy suggestion can certainly cure this problem.
- Children with different problems or disorders like ADHD or parents who are undergoing separation or divorce. Hypnosis allows the children an outlet to dispense all their negative feelings about the separation or divorce.
Who Is In Control During A Hypnotherapy Session?
The media have often portrayed that a person under hypnosis is not in control of their own selves. However, that really is not the case in reality. The person under hypnosis is always in control. They know every single thing that they are doing.
Every time a child enters a hypnotherapy session, the expert hypnotists ensures that the child is aware of what they are saying. The child is also fully aware that whatever they are suggested to do is actually for their own benefit as well.
Why Is Child Hypnotherapy Effective?
Hypnosis is very effective on children because it uses three elements that reverberate on the child. The three most important elements of hypnotherapy are relaxation, increased concentration and focus. With all these positive elements working together on the child, the results can be very positive.

Stop Negative Thoughts With Self-Hypnosis
Negative thinking can be destructive and a major reason that we tend to be unsuccessful in our endeavors. We dream big dreams but we are often drawn back by our negative thoughts that we can never make it, or we can never achieve it. If you want to be happy and successful, then you have to find ways to stop negative thinking.
It is not that easy to get rid of negative thoughts though. Many people are willing and are very interested to lose weight these days but those who fail often say they cannot just go on and some negative thoughts are just in their mind such as being too tired to exercise or they are too lazy to wake up early in the morning.
Even at work, you may sometimes refuse to take bigger tasks or responsibilities at work because the negative thought that you can't handle it came running in your mind. Indeed, these little negative thoughts hinder us to go for our dreams and goals and sometimes we don't even think of them consciously, they just pop out of our minds.
The subconscious is a large part of our minds and some things that we may not received consciously may have gone deep into our subconscious affecting our attitudes and behavior, and that's when we act negatively about a situation or think negatively of a person.
These days, there are many ways to conquer negative thoughts and one of this is hypnosis. In fact, hypnotherapy has been used in medical and military science and has helped a lot of people overcome their fears and anxieties, which can be largely due to some negative thoughts built up in the subconscious.
If you want to stop negative thinking, you can opt for hypnosis where a hypnotist will help condition you to a quiet and relaxing state and helping you overcome negative thoughts and fears.
You can also choose to do the hypnosis yourself so you won't be needing another person if you want to practice it. Self-hypnosis is done by putting yourself into a deep relaxation with some techniques used like deep breathing, the use of a relaxing music and visualization. Sometimes it involves fixing your eyes in a moving object to help you relax your mind, although this is not necessary.
Once you are in a trance state where your subconscious is said to be easy to influence, you can then have positive affirmations and suggestions sent into your subconscious that will help you eliminate negative thoughts and reprogram your mind with positive ones. Keep in mind that self-hypnosis cannot stop negative thinking with just one session. You subconscious can be programmed with repetition, just like how your negative thoughts are being kept there, as you have repeatedly heard them over the years.
Practicing self-hypnosis can even help you not just only in overcoming negative thoughts but conquering bad habits as well. Indeed, you may have known how difficult it is to overcome a habit, but you can do it with the help of your subconscious.
Keep in mind too that negative thinking can be contagious so if you want to stop negative thinking, also make sure that you are surrounded with positive people and you have positive influences in life.

Scientific Hypnosis Research
It is only natural that ahead of experimenting with an alternative treatment, such as hypnosis, that anyone would demand to be shown proof that it really works. There have been a number of controlled studies over the last several decades and they all seem to arrive at the same conclusion, hypnosis really does work. In this article I will reveal just a couple of the many pieces of research about hypnosis and how they show that hypnosis works.
Before I begin though I would like to explain how hypnosis worksas many people are unaware of this. Individuals who’ve not been in a hypnotic trance often imagine it to be a type of sleep where you can be forced to perform certain actions against your will. This belief is brought about by street hypnosis where the hypnotist “manipulates” their volunteer. The keyword in that last sentence was volunteer. A street hypnotist will request volunteers, and merely by volunteering they’re already agreeing to do whatever the hypnotist asks of them. It’s simple to “hypnotize” a person into acting like a chicken in front of a crowd but if the hypnotist then asked them to murder someone, do you think the volunteer woulddo so? Certainly not since the volunteer is there to enjoy themselves, not commit a serious crime.
Hypnotherapy (therapy from hypnosis) is rather different from stage hypnotism. Prior to a therapeutic hypnosis session starts the hypnotist and the client will talk about the goals of the client and agree on the subjects the session will concentrate on.
It is believed that hypnosis works first by priming the subconscious mind to suggestion. Once the mind is open the hypnotherapist can implant suggestions to assist the client to achieve their goal, whether it be to lose weight, quit smoking or another thing entirely.
By now you should have a strong understanding of how hypnosis works so now I will show the evidence that hypnosis works as a form of treatment.
Hypnosis and Weight Loss
In research to examine the helpfulness of hypnosis on weight loss 109 subjects (who were aged between 17 to 67) completed a behavioral treatment either with or without the addition of hypnosis. The treatment lasted 9 weeks and after follow ups both 8 months and 2 years after the treatment the subjects who used hypnosis showed a long-term weight loss rate much higher than the people who didn’t. It was also found that those who used hypnosis were much better at achieving and maintaining their ideal weight goals.
Journal for Clinical Psychology January 1985 41(1):35-41
Effectiveness of Hypnosis as an Adjunct to Behavioral Weight Management
Hypnosis Effects Can Be Scanned
At Hull University in 2009 scientists found that hypnosis had a noticeable effect on brain patterns when scanned. This means that hypnosis is not only a sop treatment as some sceptics say it to be.
Dr. Michael Heap, a psychologist involved in the study, concluded that hypnosis primes the mind for suggestion. This piece of research shows proof that hypnosis works and also exactly how it works.
Once a mind is primed to suggestion a hypnotist can then help their patron achieve their goals. I have just touched upon a couple of the many pieces of research into hypnosis but they have been many more. There is proof that hypnosis works for pain relief, relieving IBS symptoms, skin problems, improving confidence as well as many other problems.
Maybe the ultimate proof that hypnosis works though is to experience it for yourself as personal accounts also appear to fall on the side of hypnosis working. Even A-List stars such as Drew Barrymore and Ben Affleck have gone on the record as saying hypnosis helped them to quit smoking.
If you’ve ever thought about using hypnosis but not felt sure whether it would work for you, you should now have all the proof you need to use hypnosis with confidence.

Discover the Art of Covert Hypnosis
The word 'Covert' when associated with the word 'Hypnosis" conveys the impression that something black hat is being referred to and that a person possessing the art can use it in a profitable yet harmful way. Nothing can be further from the truth. The clear and universally accepted definition of covert hypnosis is that it is simply the ability to subtly communicate with another person's subconscious mind without them noticing. Covert hypnosis is the utilization of techniques and strategies to change the perception and behavior of others in a completely unconscious way. The optimal applications for covert hypnosis are in the fields of selling, advertising, marketing, relationships and therapy.
A somewhat modified definition of covert hypnosis is that it deals with the ability of a person to communicate with the subconscious mind of another person. This ability to communicate with the subconscious mind can be done without the other person noticing it. Covert hypnosis is reliant on this first crucial step in order to gain some form of trust.
After a form of affinity has been established, a counteractive idea is proposed in the form of a distraction. Covert hypnosis is a way of using naturally occurring language patterns and non verbal cues to create these effects Let me expand on this with a simple example. You walk in to a department store with no real intention of purchasing something specific. The sales person approaches you and makes a general remark, about the weather for example, and before long you are in a conversation. Before you know it you are describing something that you were thinking of getting. Shortly after you are leaving the store with purchases you never intended to get in the first place. Does this sound familiar? That was covert hypnosis in action by the salesperson. In fact covert hypnosis is also known as 'conversational hypnosis'. The objective is to change the intended behaviour - a sales person, for example, telling the client how good she will feel buying the new product. An intentional use of carefully selected words, body language, intentional gestures that seem commonplace (pointing in a certain direction) and facial expressions (a frown to the buyer to convey the unspoken opinion that she is making a mistake) in order to covertly communicate with someone's subconscious mind. The final objective is to have the person make his own decision to change his mind.
Covert hypnosis is in effect a form of indirect hypnotism in that it seeks to achieve near hypnotic states in the listener (sometimes called "sleight of mouth"). The subject is unaware that the hypnotist is either a hypnotising him, or that anything out of the ordinary is occurring as it often takes place in the course of a seemingly regular conversation. Covert hypnosis also used in writing. This requires the active participation of the reader to have any effect. The reader must become caught up in the narrative. Just think of all those well crafted sales letters you have read which had you reaching for your credit card long before you completed your reading!
Many orators who leave their audiences spellbound are themselves covert hypnotists. They may not describe themselves as such but they are quite aware of the power of their words and the impact which their words have on their respective audiences. Martin Luther King, the Mahatma and Nelson Mandela were persons who held their audiences transfixed when they spoke and often moved them to collective mass action through their process of communication. Just a year ago there were a number of black hat publications positing that as a Presidential candidate Barack Obama had mastered the art of covert hypnotism resulting in his successful cross country campaigns. The publications were intended to shed a negative light on his campaign. This was clearly a politically motivated attempt to divert attention from what is a positive trait that all mankind already possesses to some degree and which the vast majority of us would wish to be a conscious part of our daily lives. Imagine trying to haggle with a car salesman. It would be pretty difficult if you did not know anything about covert hypnosis!
The optimal applications for covert hypnosis are in the fields of selling, advertising, marketing, relationships and therapy. It is worth repeating that covert hypnosis has nothing to do with inappropriate activity or being corrupt. Instead, it is merely a type of hypnosis that is used by all of us to some degree to have some bearing on a conversation. Covert hypnosis is a very good and easy way to get what you want. Most people use this type of hypnosis to regain control of their life. As such it is an art form which all of us should seek to nurture and develop.

Top Ten Self Hypnosis Tips
As with everything in life, never start or venture into anything you don't know a lot about. You must always have a good foundation on which to build on, otherwise your whole structure will be unstable and all your efforts will have gone for naught.
Here are my top ten tips for practicing self hypnosis.
1. Try to do your self hypnosis exercises consistently at the same time each day (as much possible anyway) for 15-30 minutes per session.
2. For the first few times that you practice self hypnosis, it's recommended to only practice when you are in a somewhat relaxed condition to start with. So you may want to take a warm bath beforehand.
3. Do not force your mind when it is feeling fatigued or sleepy after a nerve-racking day. If you are very tired, then you'll have trouble concentrating. If you need to take some time out, then just have put your feet up and get back to doing self hypnosis another time.
4. Formulate suggestions properly. No matter how effectively you practice a bad idea, it is still a bad idea. Give yourself specific commands, and phrase your hypnotic suggestions carefully, so as to form them correctly or once again, you will only act surprised when you fail. Remember, your subconscious needs the right cues, if it's going to change your behaviours.
5. Ensure you're prepared. Ahead of you start your session, know what suggestions you'll be using. Don't try to make them up on the fly. You want your conscious mind to relax and if you have to think too much, then your session won't be very effective.
6. Find a quiet spot to practice. It's best to minimise distractions while you are in the process of learning self hypnosis. Remember to turn off your phone and if anyone is in the area, ask them not to disrupt you.
7. Find a position where your body will be comfortable and you will find it a lot easier to enter t he hypnotic state. If you have a recliner, that would be perfect. Then again, make certain that you're not so comfortable that you fall asleep - that defeats the purpose. A good position is to be sitting in a chair with your spine straight and your feet firmly planted on the floor.
8. Be patient. When learning a skill such as self-hypnosis, a lack of experience coupled with impatience equals all but guaranteed failure. So take your time, when dealing with your most potent and difficult-to-reach issues.
9. Make or buy a recording that guides you into hypnosis before you begin to apply suggestions. If you're making it yourself you can either just record an induction or you may want to record your whole session, including the positive suggestions that you'll be working with.
10. Practice putting yourself into a relaxed state as often as possible. Even if it's just a couple of minutes here and there throughout the day, you will be able to get into hypnosis more effortlessly when you do your self hypnosis work.
Remember, the more you practice self-hypnosis, the better you'll get, and soon you will be able to hypnotise yourself anytime and anywhere.

The Background of Covert Hypnosis
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), or conversational hypnosis, is the cogitation of how we believe and experience our world around us. Apparently, the nature of our brains and awareness hasn't become an exact scientific discipline quite up to now, so the main technique used by NLP is to form examples of how these things work. Included in this is conversational hypnosis.
The examples are then utilized to produce strategies for quickly altering thoughts, beliefs, and conducts that you might not want or require any longer, or even be aware of. The 2 individuals generally accredited with formulating NLP are Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Bandler was a psychological science student at the University of CA at Santa Cruz in 1970, when he connected with a group led by Grinder, then a affiliate professor of linguistics at the school.
The 2 men got to be acquaintances and started out working together, both molded by the Family Therapy work of Virginia Satir, Fritz Perls' Gestalt Therapy, and Milton H. Erickson's work. Bandler used his backdrop in math and computers and Grinder utilized his linguistics cognition to discover patterns and create models.
Both Bandler and Grinder were imprinted with the apparently sorcerers effect that therapists like Satir and Erickson had on their customers, and needed to see if they may break it down to a scientific level, so it may be more easily procreated by anybody, including conversational hypnosis.
Other like-minded individuals got together with Bandler and Grinder, and several of the techniques that are still utilized nowadays were built up, including anchoring, standardization, reframing, representational systems, and assorted personal behavioral change techniques as we; as conversational hypnosis.
Throughout the former seventies, Bandler and Grinder worked at fresh themes and tries out while giving workshops and authoring books. The Structure of Magic, Volumes one and two, Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, Volumes One and two, and Frogs Into Princes were all brought out during the subsequent 5 years.
A lot of these books are chiefly addressed to therapists needing to use hypnosis in their work, however anybody concerned in the subject will discover valuable data there.
By the early eighties Bandler and Grinder had each formulated their own themes about hypnosis and had parted company, each to go forward on his own. A few find that approximately this time hypnosis and NLP lost some of its initial creativeness and went in a temporary falling off, turning into more of a ceremonious band aid New Age therapy, commercialized to individuals with lots of revenue who desired second results.
There was more or less bickering among different sects over who "owned" NLP and conversational hypnosis and who advanced the "real" version. As time went by, NLP and conversational hypnosis grew in fame and acquired many different chains, till its present status as a kind of "open source" system, without any fundamental expert or single owner. This anarchical spirit contributes to its originative vim now.

Seductive Embedded Commands
Although embedded commands come from the world of NLP, they have become much more well known thanks to the success of seduction gurus such as Neill Strauss. The idea behind embedded commands is that a person covertly slips certain commands into their speech whilst talking to the person they wish to persuade. I'm sure you can imagine how this can be used in the field of seduction.
I will give you a list of seductive embedded commands that you can use to attract either women or men, but first I'd like to set an example and explain to you exactly how it works. I have bolded the embedded command to make it extra obvious for beginners to such seduction techniques.
"I've been cutting weight recently but I went shopping and I saw this delicious looking cake, you know, sometimes you just have to give in to temptation."
This is a very powerfully seductive embedded command, best used for when you already have someone "on the hook" and you want to reel them in. Also look at the words before the embedded command and how well it sets it up, no-one would ever know you are really using a seductive techniques on them because of how covert it is. Besides the embedded command the example above also sells the fact that you're someone who cares about their appearance yet isn't too obsessed with it. If you've already created a good rapport with a person they may even jump in at this point and tell you that you look great or that you don't need to lose weight at all. If you get that response then you are onto a real winner.
An embedded command consists of a few things. First you need a lead into the embedded command, this is known as a weasel phrase. In the example above the weasel phrase is "..., you know, sometimes...". The weasel phrase leads straight into the embedded command. You should also induce the thought of a state, process or experience within your command. In our example I used the word "temptation". Everyone has experience temptation at some stage of their life. Lastly it is important to regulate your tone of voice when delivering the embedded command. An embedded command should end with a downward inflection in your voice, just like any other command. You can practice this by saying out loud "hold it there", then differ this by saying "can you hold it there?". You should be able to hear the difference in your voice between when you give a command and when you ask a question.
I have given you one example of a seductive embedded command but I'm sure that you'd love to know a few more. I have included a list of embedded commands you can use for seduction below.
"If you want me to, I can help you with that."
"When that happened did you feel good?"
"Could you imagine us together in that situation?"
"When you take a risk it can be really exhilarating."
"I don't know if you like me, find that..."
"It was incredible that they could feel excited about me so quickly."
There's half a dozen seductive embedded commands you can use. Embedded commands are situation, don't try a fit one in where it doesn't belong. Wait until the time is right. The more you think about and practice using embedded commands for seductive purposes the more natural it becomes. Eventually you will be able to create and covertly add embedded commands into your conversation without even having to consciously think about it.
Please note that the potential with using embedded commands for seduction is incredible and is a power that should be used responsibly.About The Author

Proof That Hypnosis Works
There are a lot of conflicting opinions on the validity of hypnosis as a form of therapy. However scientific studies appear to have fallen firmly in the camp of hypnosis not only being a legitimate form of treatment but also highly effective.
It is only natural that before someone tries an alternative treatment, such as hypnosis, that they would want to be provided with proof that it actually works. There have been a number of scientific studies over the last several decades and they all seem to point to the same answer, hypnosis really does work. In this article I will write about just a few of the studies into hypnosis and how they provide proof that hypnosis works.
Before I begin though I would like to explain how hypnosis works. People who have not been hypnotized often imagine it to be a form of sleep where you can be controlled to do things against your will. This belief is brought about by stage hypnosis where the hypnotist "controls" their volunteer. They keyword in that last sentence was volunteer. A stage hypnotist will ask for volunteers, and just by volunteering they're already agreeing to do what the hypnotist asks them to do. It's easy to hypnotize someone into dancing around on stage but if the hypnotist was then to ask them to go and rob a bank for them, do you think the volunteer would? Certainly not because the volunteer is there to have fun, not commit a serious crime.
Also hypnotherapy (the name for hypnosis when used for therapeutic reasons) is quite different from stage hypnosis. Before a therapeutic hypnosis session begins the hypnotist and the client will discuss the goals of the client and agree on the areas the session will focus on.
It is believed that hypnosis works first by opening the subconscious mind to suggestion. From here the hypnotist can implant suggestions to help the client to achieve their goal, whether it be to lose weight, quit smoking or something else entirely.
By now you should have a reasonable understanding of how hypnosis works so know I shall provide proof that hypnosis works.
Hypnosis and Healing
In 2003 the Harvard Medical School experimented with the effects hypnosis has on the speed of healing broken bones. The study took twelve people with broken ankles and used regular treatment on half of them, and hypnosis alongside the regular treatment for the other half.
The results were remarkable as those who had underwent hypnosis had healed as much in six weeks as those who did not had is eight and a half weeks. The proof hypnosis works here is self evident. Just by adding hypnosis into their rehabilitation people with broken bones healed over twenty five percent faster than those who merely used the regular treatment.
This study can be seen to be of particular importance to athletes who wish to speed up the recovery process so they can go back to training and competing.
Cromie, W.J. (2003) Hypnosis Helps Healing. Harvard University Gazette, May 8th 2003.
Hypnosis and Pain Control
Scientists at the University of Iowa Health Science Relations fMRI scans to discover the effects of hypnosis on pain control. The study found that people under hypnosis experienced less pain from a heat than those who weren't hypnotized. This fact even showed up on brain scans as the volunteers under hypnosis displayed significantly different patterns of brain activity than those who weren't. This certainly suggest that hypnosis somehow blocks out signals of pain from the brain.

Hypnosis Shows On Brain Scans
In 2009 at Hull University researchers found that hypnosis had a noticeable effect on brain activity when scanned. This shows that hypnosis is not merely a placebo treatment as some skeptics claim it to be.
Dr. Michael Heap, a psychologist involved in the study, concluded that hypnosis primes the mind for suggestion. Not only has this study shown proof that hypnosis works it has also adequately explained how it works.
Once the mind is primed to suggestion a hypnotist can then help their client achieve their goals. I have only touched upon three of the different studies into hypnosis but they have been many more. There is proof that hypnosis works for weight loss, IBS relief, skin problems, increased fertility and much more.
Perhaps the ultimate proof that hypnosis works though is to try it for yourself. Anecdotal evidence also falls on the side of hypnosis working. Even celebrities such as Matt Damon and Ellen DeGeneres have gone on the record as saying hypnosis helped them to quit smoking.
So if you are thinking about using hypnosis, please do so with confidence, as all the evidence dictates that hypnosis really does work.

Get Clear Skin With Hypnosis
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished your skin looked more clear and healthy? I'm sure at some time you have as it is perfectly natural to want to improve your physical appearance in any way possible. Of course when it comes to skin there are so many creams, oils and lotions available that you would think that everyone should have perfect skin, yet this is clearly not the case. The reason is that these products do not cure the real causes of poor skin, stress and lack of proper nutrition. The real answer for clear skin is actually hypnosis.
When you think of hypnosis clear skin might not be the first thing you think of yet scientific studies such as the one performed by the Psoriasis Research Institute have shown that hypnosis is a highly effective method of achieving clear, healthy skin. It is amazing to think that hypnosis can have such a positive effect on the body as well as the mind.
There are a number of reasons hypnosis helps improve skin quality. First of all hypnosis is well renown for its relaxation properties and its ability to reduce stress. Secondly, with the right hypnotic suggestions, a person will find their eating and drinking habits become a lot healthier. These two facts alone show just why hypnosis is so successful. Further still hypnosis has be shown to aid recovery and healing, whether it's broken bones or damaged skin.
Skin hypnosis (aka hypnotherapy when used for therapeutic reasons) needn't be expensive either. You don't have to shell out hundreds to see a qualified hypnotherapist anymore. Many of the very best hypnotherapists sell MP3 versions of sessions such as skin hypnosis for a fraction of the price a person may spend on cosmetic creams or lotions.
However hypnosis is no "magical cure". After you listen to a skin hypnosis audio session you won't rise out of the trance state with instantly perfect skin. It takes a little time, typically a week or so of using skin hypnosis once a day. But once you buy a skin hypnosis session you never have to pay another penny again, so not only is it effective it's also cost effective.

Seduce Women With Your Words
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. With women it's through their ears. With a carefully selected choice of words you can successfully seduce any woman you want, no matter how you look or what you earn.
Embedded Commands
An embedded command is an NLP technique that is used to persuade somebody to feel a certain way. As you read that sentence I'm sure you already realised how useful that could be while trying to seduce a woman.
The idea is that you slip certain commands into your dialogue whilst talking to the woman you are interested in. Done right this is so smooth and fluid that she will never notice, however she will subconscious pick up on these embedded commands and they will take the desired effect. It's simply the power of suggestion.
For example lets say you are talking to a woman about pets, you could say something like, "When I was a kid we got a pet (whatever animal you want) and she could be very affectionate towards me". It is important to be covert about these commands, don't force one if it doesn't fit.
Tone of voice is key here. A command is spoken with a downward inflection, this shows conviction. It also registers on a deep level whereas whilst you are talking to the woman she won't consciously notice this slight change of inflection.
Have Interesting Anecdotes Ready
Even if you've led a relatively mundane life you probably have a couple of interesting stories tucked away somewhere. If not make them up. Anecdotes provide you with an excellent opportunity to slip in embedded commands. If you are truly committed to becoming a master of seduction then you might even consider writing out a small script (including embedded commands) for yourself containing an interested anecdote. Keep it short and end it on a high point.
Listen and Ask Questions
A conversation is a two way thing. Asking questions to a woman about her life will give you further topics of conversation to pursue. Follow up questions will also show that you are both listening and interested in what she has to say.
If, at some point, the woman asks you if what she did in a certain situation was the best thing to do always say that she chose the right option. This provides her with an ego boost plus it affirms her decision making skills. If she is asking your opinion about something she is almost certainly considering you as a partner, affirming her decision making skills will make her feel like she is making the right choice.
Practice
Seduction techniques take practice to perfect. There are a few ways you can practice before taking your skills out into a "live environment". One is to talk to yourself in the mirror. Practice your delivery and mannerisms until they look completely natural, this will also boost your confidence levels. Another similar method is to speak into a dictaphone and then listen back to it. Repeat this over and over, ironing out mistakes and missteps as you go.
The real practice though can be found in bars, libraries, shops and wherever else you see a woman you are attracted to. For some men things click into place instantly once they have their game down. For others it might take a few run-throughs to get it right.
Whatever happens stick with it and evolve your plan. You will find certain stories and commands have higher success rates than other. Keep these and rework the others until your technique is so good that you can seduce any woman.
